Shaping senior role creation and successful hiring solution of Chief Operating Officer to support Textile Manufacturer strategic growth

Our customers CEO had taken a decision to step back from day-to-day operational and commercial input and instead focus upon strategic growth activities.  As such responsibility for these business areas was to be transferred and our customer was keen to create either a Chief Operating Officer (COO) role or alternatively a Commercial Director and Operations Director.   

Our customer wanted an insight led solution to help them shape the role(s) to ensure they acquired the right skills and talent to take the business forward.

Our Solution

The first stage of the project was to identify talent in organisations of applicable business size and the future target turnover of our customer, we also highlighted sectors which would deliver the desired business change and manufacturing outputs.  

We presented our research report comprising of mapped individuals, their work history, remuneration and structures below and around the individuals to provide our customers Board with contextual insights to shape their decision making.  

The customer opted to create a COO position and we were engaged to approach and assess individuals of greatest interest through video and telephone interviews culminating in the presentation of a Longlist of 15 candidates.  

These individuals were shortlisted following a face to face competency interview stage, conducted by our experience interviewers with candidates presented in a detailed Shortlist Report comprising of CVs, Competency interview commentary and psychometric profiles.

We are particularly proud of this work as the client had only ever used headhunters for senior roles before, we evidenced the type of role and person required for their business and we saved the client 50% versus their usual headhunt fee
